LienVietBank Grants $785,300 to Build Cancer Hospital in Vietnam City
Lien Viet Commercial Joint Stock Bank (LienVietBank) Mar. 28 donated VND15 billion ($785,300) to help build a cancer hospital in Vietnam’s central city of Danang. Of the sum, VND5 billion came from LienVietBank and the rest from Him Lam Joint Stock Corporation, a big shareholder of the bank, the Lao Dong newspaper reported Mar. 29. Covering on an area of 15 hectares in Lien Chieu district’s Hoa Minh ward, the 500-sickbed will become the first cancer hospital in central Vietnam. Once in place in 2012, it is expected contribute to reduce overloads of the tumor and cancer hospitals in Vietnam’s biggest cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
