Lang Son Province Expects to Reduce Poverty Rate to Less than 10%

The northern province of Lang Son has set a target to reduce the poverty rate to less than 10%, down from the current 13%, Vi Van Thanh, chairman of the provincial People’s Committee said. The province will focus on developing infrastructure, irrigation systems and schools and providing vocational training courses for people in rural areas, Thanh attributed. Ethnic minority people account for 85% of Lang Son’s population. The locality is home to seven ethnic groups, including Tay, Kinh, Nung, Dao, San Chay, Hoa and H’s Mong.
