Kon Tum Schools to Teach Traditional Ethnic Music

Schools in the central highlands province of Kon Tum will begin teaching students to play traditional music and instruments, including gongs, as part of a new project launched this year by the provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism. The program tilted “Friendly Schools - Dynamic Students,” will also teach children time-honored dances of the region along with ethnic minority folk games and stories. The program aims to preserve ethnic minority culture by passing along knowledge to young people in extracurricular courses at the schools.
