Japan Institute Supports Training Project in Vietnam Hospital

Japan’s National Center for Global Health and Medicine (NCGM) has pledged to provide training courses and medical equipment for the Hanoi-based Bach Mai Hospital in order for raising capability of Vietnamese health workers. The NCGM and the Ministry of Health signed a deal on the project in Hanoi June 2, the Phap Luat Viet Nam newspaper reported June 3, giving no detail of the project’s cost. On May 31, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) also signed a deal to fund JPY505 million ($5.3 million) for a training project to improve capability of Vietnamese health workers.  The Bach Mai hospital is among beneficiaries of the five-year project, which is slated to start in July.
