Japan to Help Vietnam Train High-Qualified Manpower
The Japanese government will help Vietnam train high-qualified manpower in key fields of information technology, telecommunications, ship building, new materials and biotechnology, affirmed Japanese Minister of State for National Policy Sengoku Yoshito at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan in Hanoi on May 4. During the talks, the Vietnamese and Japanese officials expressed their appreciations toward efforts made by both governments to nurture the bilateral ties in all fields, the Vietnamese government said on its website May 4. The Vietnamese leader hoped that the sides will actively cooperate in human resources training through establishment of Vietnam-Japan International University in Vietnam. In response, the Japanese minister highly spoke of the Vietnamese government’s commitment to Japan-invested projects that bring about positive social effectiveness to the Southeast Asia country. The Ministry of Industry and Trade forecast trade between Vietnam and Japan will reach over $18 billion in 2010 thanks to the AJCEP and the Vietnam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (VJEPA) effective from Oct. 1, 2009.
