Japan to Grant $187,838 Equipment to Vietnam Hospitals
The Japanese government has pledged to grant a combined $187,838 worth of medical equipment for hospitals in two Vietnam’s southern provinces. Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Ikuo Mizuki and local authorities will sign an agreement on the aid today, the Phap Luat Thanh Pho Ho Chi Minh newspaper reported Friday. Of the sum, $97,000 will be transferred to the Ham Long General Hospital in Chau Thanh district in Ben Tre province, the rest will be given to a healthcare facility in Long My district in Hau Giang province. The equipments will help improve healthcare service quality for the local people. This year, Japan pledged $1.64 billion in official development assistance (ODA) for the communist country.
