International Dental Conference Opens in Vietnam Capital City
Nearly 1,500 foreign and Vietnamese leading dentists gathered at an international dental conference in Hanoi on July 28, the state-run Vietnam News Agency said. The participants will focus on odontology issues such as teeth transplantation, mouth surgeries and its related diseases at the three-day event. On the same day, the participants attended an exhibition that displayed dental equipment, materials for dentistry and products for dental and mouth care made by leading firms from the U.S., Germany, France, the UK, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Israel. Vietnam has gained considerable achievements in dental and mouth care over the past time, especially for children thanks to modern technologies from foreign countries, Vietnamese Minister of Health Nguyen Quoc Trieu said. A survey made by the Vietnamese ministry and the Australian Institute for Dental Care Statistics and Research showed that up to 90% of Vietnam’s population suffers from dental diseases.
