HCM City Spends $1.8M to Stabilize School Equipment Prices in 2010-2011
Ho Chi Minh City has invested VND34.3 billion ($1.8 million) to stabilize school equipment prices in the 2010-2011 academic year, said Nguyen Thi Hong, vice chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee. Equipment of the price stabilization includes notebooks, bags and uniforms, the Vietnam News Agency said Jul 27, citing Hong. Nine enterprises have registered to join the program which will last until October 31. The businesses would enjoy zero lending interest rate at banks during the program. HCM City is now home to 1.5 million students and more than 53,000 teachers and lecturers from over 1,628 schools and 30 colleges.
