Hanoi to Spend $162.35M to Develop Preschool Education through 2015
Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi will spend VND3 trillion ($162.35 million) to develop preschool education in the 2010-2015 period. Under the plan, the city aims to upgrade more than 3,000 unsettled classrooms, build 809 new classrooms and bring Internet to all preschools in 2015, the Dat Viet newspaper reported Dec. 14. Teachers and educational managers’ IT skills will be also improved, the newspaper added. Hanoi now has more than 679 preschools, of which 267 meet national standards. The city has planned to assess training quality of all schools in the 2009-2010 academic year.
