France to Grant $144M to Train Lecturers for Vietnam University
The government of French has pledged to grant $144 million to Hanoi University of Science and Technology to train lecturers, the government of Vietnam said on its website. The French side will also send lecturers to give lectures and undertake management work. The opening of the school will be one of activities to mark the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi, showing friendship ties between Vietnam and France, it added. The Vietnamese government has invested $100 million in the construction of the university. There are 126 training establishments in Hanoi, including 56 universities, 28 junior colleges and 39 technical secondary schools. The city targets to have 50% of state-run preschools meeting nation standards by 2015.
