Foreign Firms Disburse $502.6M in Vietnam Province Year-to-Date
Foreign investors have disbursed $502.6 million in Vietnam’s southern province of Dong Nai since early this year, fulfilling 33.4% of the full-year target and rising 6.8 times from a year earlier. During the period, the local authority has licensed 19 projects totaling $29.6 million and allowed to 32 existing project to add $473 million, the Dien dan Doanh nghiep newspaper reported June 16. This year, the province aims to attract $1.5 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) and disburse $800 million of the figure, Bo Ngoc Thu director of the provincial Department of Planning and Investment said. Dong Nai province now takes the lead in the Southeast Asian country in terms of number of IPs with 29 covering 9,076 hectares. The province have to date had nearly 1,000 valid foreign direct investment projects totaling $17.72 billion.
