Food Poisoning Attacks 29 People in Thanh Hoa Province

As many as 29 people in Vietnam’s central province of Thanh Hoa were hospitalized July 16 due to food poisoning, the Tien Phong online newspaper reported July 17. The victims reportedly suffered from symptoms of stomachache, vomiting and diarrhea after attending a wedding party in Trieu Son district’s Hop Thanh commune. Local health taskforces took the food samples for testing to find the poisoning cause, the newspaper added. Thanh Hoa reported 8 food poisoning cases since early this year, affecting 112 locals, the newspaper added. In June, Vietnam witnessed 17 food poisoning cases in 13 provinces and cities, with 1,079 affected people including four deaths, down 15%, up 53.27% and down 60% against May, respectively.
