Up to 16 people in Vietnam’s central city of Danang were hospitalized July 5 due to food poisoning, the Cong An Nhan Dan newspaper reported July 6. The victims reportedly suffered from symptoms of stomachache, vomiting and diarrhea after attending a wedding party in Hoa Vang district’s Hoa Son commune. Local health taskforces took the food samples for testing to find the poisoning cause, the newspaper added. In June, Vietnam witnessed 17 food poisoning cases in 13 provinces and cities, with 1,079 affected people including four deaths, down 15%, up 53.27% and down 60% against May, respectively.
