DANIDA to Grant $11M to Vietnam Agro, Fishery Firms
Danish International Development Assistance (DANIDA)’s the Global Competitiveness Facility (GCF) will grant $11 million to 40 projects to raise competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural and fishery firms in the 2011-2013 period, the Tuoi Tre newspaper reported on Aug 6. Exporting firms in eight cities and provinces in Vietnam will benefit from the projects, a GCF’s representative said at a workshop to improve competitiveness of Vietnamese fruit and vegetable firms in Ho Chi Minh City on Aug 5. GCF granted nearly $7.2 million to four projects in Ha Tay, Nghe An, Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong provinces in the 2006-2010 period. The projects had more than 8,000 farmers trained and created around 6,400 new jobs.
