Title: Defining Mental Health approach in MdM HIV program in Vietnam
Starting Date: ASAP
Location: Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City
Objectives of the consultancy:
- To obtain an assessment of the mental health related needs of PLHIV registered in MdM-supported OPC in the framework of the program objectives
- To evaluate mental health-related (MH) attitudes, knowledge and practices of OPC staffs
- To produce a detailed strategic plan that adresses identified shortcomings.
Key areas of research:
The consultancy should include findings and lessons learnt in the following areas:
- Form and prevalence of the psychological / psychiatric disorders in OPC patients
- Social and medical determining factors of psychological / psychiatric disorders
- Patient’s self-perception of their psychological status and coping mechanisms
- Mental health KAP of OPC staff and analysis of MH-related services as currently provided by the OPC
- Insight on the specific situation of peer educator
The consultancy should also provide recommendations with respect to:
- Technical strategy to cover identified MH needs in a sustainable way and given VN peculiar context, and brief activities description
- Timeline and resources to allocate to this component in order to achieve the goals in the technical strategy
- MH-related capacity building strategy
- Additional recommendations related to PE management
The expert
- Advanced university degree in psychology;
- At least 5 years experience in designing and managing HIV/AIDS program in Vietnam in the area of prevention and care services ;
- Personal skills: good communication, analytical and drafting skills;
- Fluency in English and Vietnamese
