Boeing to Grant $10,000 Scholarships to Vietnam Students

The U.S.-based Boeing Corporation will provide $10,000 scholarships to ten students enrolled in an information technology training course in 2010 at Duy Tan University in Vietnam’s central city of Danang, the Vietnam News Agency said Mar 10. Eligible scholarship beneficiaries must meet standards of the U.S. Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), said Nguyen Thanh Duong, director of Duy Tan University’s Communications and Marketing Center. Duy Tan University will also grant 40 scholarships, worth from $150 to $550 each, to other students who follow the course, he added. The training course is a cooperation program between the CMU and the Software Engineering Group of Vietnam (SEG Vietnam). Students who take part in the course will be granted 18 certificates for fulfilling their subject by the CMU after finishing the course. Boeing is the world's leading aerospace company and the largest manufacturer of commercial jetliners and military aircraft combined.
