ADB Grants $3M to Improve Agro-Products in Vietnam Mekong Delta

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has granted $3 million to Vietnam’s Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang to implement a project to improve quality and safety standards of agricultural products and develop bio gas cells, the Voice of Vietnam Radio reported. The project aims to build infrastructure and supply equipment which will tap animal waste to make bio gas and reduce environmental pollution.
It will also develop three zones for vegetables and dragon fruits cultivation by VietGAP in Thanh Cuu Nghia commune in Chau Thanh district, Long Hoa commune in Go Cong district and My Tinh An in Cho Gao district with total 90 hectares of vegetables and 30 hectares of dragon fruits. The project also supports 1,500 householders and farms to build bio-gas systems.
