ADB to Fund $2.5M for Climate Change Project in Central Vietnam
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will fund $2.5 million for a technical assistance project to cope with climate change in Vietnam’s central city of Danang between 2011 and 2013. The project, to be funded through the Nordic Development Fund (NDF), aims to raise capabilities of municipal authorities in mapping out plans to reduce emission and risks relating to climate change, the city people’s committee said on its website. At a meeting with ADB and NDF representatives last week, Vice Mayor Van Huu Chien expressed the project will facilitate the city to fulfill the goal of becoming an environment city in 2020.
