40 People Suffer from Food Poisoning in Thanh Hoa Province

Up to 40 people in Vietnam’s central province of Thanh Hoa have suffered from food poisoning, the VnMedia online newspaper reported Aug 7. The victims were hospitalized with symptoms of stomachache, vomiting and diarrhea after attending a wedding party in Quang Xuong district’s Quang Phu commune. Local health taskforces took the food samples for testing to find the poisoning cause. Earlier, food poisoning also attacked 29 people in Trieu Son district’s Hop Thanh commune on July 16. Vietnam reported 88 food poisoning cases in the first seven months of this year, killing 32 people and affecting nearly 3,000 others.
