Project Document for “Environmental Remediation of Dioxin Contaminated Hotspots in Viet Nam” was signed on 28 June 2010 by and between Minister of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Global Environment Facilities (GEF) is funding agency of this project. The project has been implemented since 2010, and is expected to complete in 2013.
The Objective of the project is “to minimise disruption of ecosystems and health risks for people from environmental releases of TCDD contaminated hotspots”. This will contribute to the broader Goal, which is “to overcome the consequences of toxic chemicals used in the war in Viet Nam”.

SNV is implementing the AusAID funded project ‘Sowing the Seeds of Change: Community-based Climate Change Mitigation through Sustainable Rice Production’ (SRI) in Quang Binh and Binh Dinh provinces. The project supports small-holder rice producers to improve sustainable production system that increases productivity of rice cultivation while reducing requirements for water, seed, synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and labour, especially tasks performed by women, as well as reduced GHG emissions of methane and nitrous oxide.
